Melodronome presents a unique approach to ear training that combines melody and rhythm, challenging both novice and experienced musicians alike. It offers an innovative platform for those intimidated by complex time signatures, such as the daunting phrase, “Oh...btw...we're starting with a new one. It's in 13. You'll hear it...”

This application caters to users seeking to practice intricate patterns, including but not limited to rhythms in 5, 7, 11, 19, 31, 43, and even 61 beats. Rather than merely maintaining a steady tempo, Melodronome allows improvisers to engage creatively through customizable melodic lines at the touch of a button.

Diving into a realm inspired by the book Modus Novus, Melodronome's melodies are generated based on user-selected intervals. For instance, choosing the minor second ascending (m2↑) and minor second descending (m2↓) will create melodies oscillating between these two intervals.

Users simply need to press play to begin their musical exploration. Each subsequent press generates a new melody, encouraging users to linger on those that resonate with them. The transient nature of these melodies adds an element of beauty—once a melody is gone, it cannot be revisited. Therefore, taking the time to immerse oneself in each distinct melody is an essential part of the experience.
